Mid-Century Modern Stag Cantata Piper Drawers

John Piper abstract inspired piece in lovely Autumn Sunset colours.

Painted in Annie Sloan Chalk paint, it has a painterly looking finish which has been clear waxed for protection. Saved some of the teak veneer on this piece as it wasn’t in too bad condition - sanded and sealed with Teak sealant.

The piece has 6 drawers that offers plenty of storage, and have the iconic metal sculpted handles.

This mid century Stag Cantata double chest of drawers, designed by John & Silvia Reid, is in excellent condition, but as with all upcycles, the piece has been well used, therefore please expect some signs of characterful wear and tear. I have replaced one of the bases of the drawers as it was previously damaged. It’s good to be able to see and feel the history of the piece.

Due to the hand painted design the piece has a slightly textured surface in places which just adds to its uniqueness. The price reflects the fact that this is a unique and is a one-off, and features original artwork.
